Ongoing classes are offered at GMI Stained Glass for hobbyists and serious artists. Beginners, intermediate and advanced students are all welcome.
GMI’s classes are taught in our classroom facilities by competent and caring instructors. The classrooms are fully equipped with the latest tools, grinders and glass cutting saws.
- Year-round, seven-week long project classes which start every eight weeks.
- Tuition cost is $79.00—covers once a week classes and open workshop hours.

Project Class
In project classes you may choose to learn the copper foil method, lead, stepping stones, benches, mosaics or lamp construction. A registration fee of $20.00 is required to sign up for a class and reserve a student seat. This fee will be subtracted from the class fee of $79.00 on the first day of class. Refunds on registration fees are available up to two weeks before the date of the scheduled first class. No refunds will be made for classes cancelled less than 2 weeks before the scheduled first class date.

Specialty Classes
GMI offers many Specialty Classes. These are always offered on Saturday afternoons from 1 – 5 PM. In specialty classes, you will assemble and complete your project in the same day. Choices vary year round. Please see schedule for listings.

Dragonfly Garden Stake - 1 to 5 PM
Tuition: $39.00 Materials: $25.00
You will learn to construct a lead wrapped dragonfly fixed onto a 30”garden
stake using stained glass, wire and nuggets. These make great gifts for your
gardening friends! |

Stained Glass Bird House - 1 to 5 PM
Tuition: $39.00 Materials: $22.00
This is one of our most versatile classes because we provide ribbon, flowers, moss,
birds and other supplies that help you to create a gift suitable for a wedding, shower or any other occasion. You will construct a glass bird house using your choice of glass and decorations. We have beautiful samples in our store window now! |

Beginning Fusing - 1 to 5 PM
Tuition: $49.00 Materials: Varies with glass chosen
If you want to learn what fusing is all about this is the class for you! Geared for
beginners, Jan will cover the basics of fusing, terminology and materials. You will construct several small tiles using fusing glass. |

Fused Jewelry - 1 to 5 PM
Tuition: $49.00 Materials: $50.00
Jan will teach you to make fused cabochons for necklaces, brooches or earrings. You
will learn to operate a small kiln and make items you can take home the same day. Jan
will teach you to assemble the finished project and provide lots of resources for creating
your own jewelry. |

Christmas Wrapped Came Figurines Party
9:30 AM to 12:30 PM - or - 1:30 to 4:30 PM
Tuition: $39 Materials: Bring your own!
Come to a potluck party and bring a snack to share. We will provide drinks.
Both Jan and Alice will be available to help you assemble wrapped came figurines
including angels, nativity sets, ornaments, wreaths, etc! We have made an appointment
with TJ Plating and will be taking your projects down during the week of Nov 20th so that
they will be returned to you before Christmas. Schedule a 3 hour period from
9:30 – 12:30 or from 1:30 – 4:30. Limited to 6 students per session. |

Hot Beads with Micheal J.- 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Tuition: $59 Materials: Kit and Mapp Gas $140
Michael will teach you the techniques for making 15 different styles of beads
featured in the book (included in your kit) You can make Glass Beads! By Cindy Jenkins.
We will provide lunch during a short break! |

Lead Wrapped Angels- 1 to 4 PM
Tuition: $39 Materials: $25
Jan will teach you to lead wrap your stained glass, nuggets and jewels to
construct beautiful angels. This is one of our most popular gift items year round.
These angels look their best after being nickel plated and we will provide that service
for you based on the plater's current fees. |
